Yup! I have photographed Milton & Oakville over and over. Often the same subjects again and again. I don’t mind, like you said it adds to the visual record. Plus when trying something new, you already know how that thing is supposed to look!

I love your mindset. I need to be more like that. I’ve been in a photography slump lately because I’m tired of photographing in the same place all the time. I just see the same things over and over again. It’s hard to change your perspective when you know a place so well. - That being said, I do like to revisit photos I’ve taken and notice the changes over time. The building that’s no longer there, the trees that have matured, etc.

Thanks, Alicia!

Yeah, I get it. I’ve probably photographed this one particular abandoned seaside house about 10 times but I know one day I’ll look back and see that every photo that’s a full year apart will show more deteriorations and I’m hoping it’s enough to catalog this poor buildings demise. Sometimes it’s all we can do, but at least then someone is.

Love this attitude. Too often I don’t get out because I’m not going somewhere new or exciting, but then something will change, a building knocked down, or new construction, and I wish I would have grabbed a shot of that moment in time previously (and sometimes I will have a shot and I’m happy I have it!)

Also, there’s something about those boats on black and white, they look great 🖤🤍

Thanks buddy! I love those boats, and really everything over in the cove. I plan on spending a lot of Lucky SHD over in that area this summer. Gonna try to get on some of the boats too.

One thing about living in a small area is that you really do notice things. It's a blessing and a curse. When something you love changes it can break your heart. When something you feel nothing for changes it can me exciting and fresh. As always, great set of images bud. Keep shooting your shot.

Thanks, buddy! I’ll always make do, and the excitement will ebb and flow but right now I’m feeling it and so I’m just gonna keep going until I’ve had my fill of the hood for now.

"Making do" is what most of us amateurs do 99% of the time - especially when we're just starting out. There have been occasions when I've reviewed what I've taken and been disappointed that I didn't have lens X or accessory Y to get the best from a favoured subject. Sometimes, I've 'invested' mistakenly in additional kit which has been underused. That gets sold or traded. We cut our suit according to the cloth. We make do and mend.

We’re all just doing our best and trying to make nice pictures. Thanks, Paul. Appreciate you.
