Hey there, today’s post is a pretty simple one. I was busier than I expected to be this past week, focusing on prepping a bunch of other stuff for the Stay Focused Substack. Big stuff…well big for me.
Lately I’ve been working on multiple long form posts, including some deep dives into things that represent a big part of my life and have helped influence my photography, and developing a multi-part post detailing my first trip to Japan last October (putting a cap on that event before I go again this fall).
I am not the fastest writer in the world - it usually takes me a few days to write up even a simple post (like this one), curate the photos, edit everything (with huge help from my wife, a professional writer), and then put it all together in Substack. It takes time and effort for sure, but it’s worth the work as it’s something I thoroughly enjoy doing every week.
Between getting caught up in planning and writing these bigger posts, as well as working on some other super cool things I’ll be sharing soon, Sunday arrived and I had absolutely nothing prepped for my usual weekly newsletter. So this week, there is no theme, no camera showdown, no volumes of Best Foot Forward or Diggin’ in the Crates; just some okay photos from a nice golden hour evening walk with my wife and our dog, Maisie
Side note/question: Do any of you also find it impossible to get your pet to actually look at the camera? Maisie will only pose for treats (she doesn’t work for free, respect).
All photos are SOOC using a Kodak Vision 3 250D film simulation. Shot on a Fujifilm XT-30II w/ a 35mm f/1.4 lens and a 5% Cinebloom filter.
Stay focused.
That pop of red! Such a great collection of images, love the processing!
Love the photos! And look forward for the big stuff 😉
