A bit about me

Hey, I’m Dan, or if you follow me on Instagram, you might know me as okayfoto. I’m an Art Director, a street photographer, and self-professed hip hop head living in Nova Scotia, Canada. I like a lot of things, but dudes, I friggin’ love photography.

I’ve been taking photos since I was 15. Back then, I used my dad’s Yashica MF-1 to take photos of my friends, family, and document that time in my life - most of it spent skateboarding, dj’ing, writing graffiti, and goofing off. A lot of that stuff I still do 30-odd years later, and still try to document it all with my cameras, both digital and film.

What to expect here

Stay Focused is more like a blog than a typical newsletter, with all the perks that Substack brings to the table. This is where I’m gonna post photos and write about taking them. There will be other stuff too, but it will all be focused around photography. More than anything, I love being a part of the photography community, and this is a great place to meet people and make new photography buds.
