I have some expired Gold 100 that can probably get pretty close to gravy myself haha. Yeah that park is awesome. I’ve ridden it a few times back when I was a bit lighter and nimbler, so like 15 years ago lol.
I still thought I was nimble a year ago. That's how a hobbled myself on the baseball diamond with a pretty much broken ankle that's still plaguing me. Cranked out 5 dingers in a row and then went to flash the leather at short and rolled that ankle something fierce. Damn thing still pops in and out of place and dangles like a piece of flabby flesh at times. Lol
You are a bad influence for me, Dan. You made me order Lucky film (still waiting!), and after seeing your D750 in the field (along with Lucy Lumen videos), I want to get one (for night photos, honestly). But I'm not sure yet, as I'm still married to film, haha.
Interesting series. I like artistic graffiti but "tagging" isn't my thing. I used to use LrC but I'm no longer an Adobe customer as I swapped to Capture One. That said, there's a guy called Robin Whalley who has a website: https://lenscraft.co.uk/ and he does some fantastic photo editing courses. He also has a YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@RobinWhalley if you want to check him out.
Thanks, Paul. Yeah not everyone needs to like it and there is definitely a fine line between art and vandalism, but as a writer myself, I will always appreciate all types of graffiti.
Appreciate the links, I’m a veteran of Lightroom and was only hoping for tips on working specifically with Nikon raws as I find they are a bit tougher to bend to my will in Lightroom haha.
I used Nikon digital (D70, D200, D300, D700 and D810) for many years and the main issue I found with LrC was that Adobe (for reasons best known to itself) applied a number of settings automatically - which are already there when you import the RAW (NEF) files / start processing them. It's been a while since I used LrC but I think you disable them from the "Preferences" panel. I'm not 100% but maybe this link will help remove the Adobe imposed baseline: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/reset-preferences.html
As I mentioned previously, I switched to Capture One and, to my eyes, the RAW files from my Nikon, Fuji and Leica systems just looked better from the get-go. I also have Affinity - though I'm not yet close to proficient with it. Robin Whalley has also produced some great tuition for that system as well.
I’m definitely gonna look into that first thing you mentioned, that might be part of or the whole issue right there. Thanks, Paul!
I’ve been looking at Capture One but I’m so invested in Adobe right now because I use other software if theirs as well, that making a switch doesn’t make sense right now.
Yeah, I get it. I felt similarly but took the financial hit as I grew to dislike Adobe with some intensity. It took me a long time to find out about Adobe's imposed settings and how to back them out of LrC. It definitely improved things (to my eye) but by then I'd been running C1 in tandem for a year or two and I had to make a choice / simplify my approach. Another chap who is an advocate of LrC is Gavin Seim. He produces some interesting YouTube videos and also offers several sets of Presets, LUTs, etc. He has a very different approach to post-processing.
Need to shoot that "gravy" on phoenix 1 and underexpose it by a couple of shots. Man that skate park looks so damn good.

That sounds horrible but I can fully relate, my ankles are both fucked from skateboarding and it’s made later adulthood a mess of rolled ankles lol.

Good job, amigo. I love cool graffiti work.
That sounds like a good influence to me, haha. Also, you can be married to film and dabble in digital, I will keep your secret haha.
😆 (sounds like a plan!)
