love the last shot! The light is great & I'm impressed the Auto Focus got the DOF right

as for shooting film, I definitely agree re: costs & wish color was as accessible as black & white. I hear that there's going to be a new & fairly cheap color film from Lucky coming out later this year, though; hopefully that'll make it a little easier on everyone's wallets. No idea how the people shooting Portra 800 all the time are pulling that one off

Yeah I’m excited to see this new Lucky stock as well. Yeah the Portra shooters are a different beast, I’m still working through my first ever roll in my Pentax 17 but it’s taking forever to get through 78 shots. Oddly enough a film wholesalers just started up here in Canada, I saw them in instagram today but I’m waiting to see if they’re legit or a scam.

Nice read and cool photos from a - to me - different part of the world. It’s really interesting that many of us have similar backgrounds like coming from Graffiti/Hip Hop , skateboarding or punk scene and all that.

It feels like an awesome community here!

Cheers buddy

Thanks Hans, I totally missed replying when you left the comment. Yeah it’s surprising how many of us have that background, it definitely feels like a community I belong in because of that as it’s usual to find so many like minded folks.

I quite like the colors in your photo's. I find the "door above a door (without a stair") photo quite funny. Imagine opening the top door and stepping out. I think it's not an actual door though, so that's a good thing :-)

Yeah I snapped it because of that. We got a lot of weird stuff like that here, a lot of oddly placed doors and windows…maybe that’s a small project idea now that I say it.

I love Gold on sunny days. I'd love to return to Banff with some.

Nice post

Thanks, Lloyd! Banff on Gold would be perfect. I grew up in Calgary and spent a lot of time up in Banff in the summer and winter.

Nice, I have in-laws in Calgary. I didn't think much of the city but then I didn't go during rodeo. I did love the Royal Tyrrell dinosaur museum though

Nice! Yeah Calgary is not that memorable even with the Stampede, but Drumheller and the museum are great! My grandparents were in Drumheller and I spent a lot of time there. I’ve got a lot of old photos of the badlands in a box somewhere.

I unknowingly walked into the same “stakes is high” problem two years ago. I hadn’t been following any film photographers or paying any attention to film, so I knew nothing of the resurgence in popularity and rising prices when I picked it back up. Thanks for sharing the images. I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks, Tim. Yeah while it’s on the pricier side, I find the experience of shooting with film worth the extra costs. I’d like to start scanning my own rolls in the future to cut down on that cost too. I’ve wanted to shoot film again for a couple years, following a lot of film shooters finally inspired me to just bite the bullet.
